Location Collective opens Hertfordshire based studio
Location Collective, one of the UK’s largest studio owner-operator behind projects such as Loki and Napoleon, announced today the opening of their Hertfordshire based studio. The OMA V Film Studios’ launch comes on the heels of the UK Spring Budgets investment into the local screen industry, including a 40% tax credits for UK based studios. The new facility will provide a purpose made space for high-end TV shows and feature films on the five acre site.
Situated conveniently within the M25, OMA V is situated in Radlett, Hertfordshire, bringing the screen industry to the St Alban’s area. Catering to high-end television and feature film productions, the facility is equipped with a total of 65,00 sq ft of high specification sound stages, 35,600 sq ft of production office and support space, a power upgrade utilising renewable stage and house power, and full studio management service, all situated on the five acre fully private, secure and controllable site.
Antony Iredale, Founder of Location Collective, says: “We are hugely excited to be launching our third film studio in such a prime geographical location for film and TV production, and very proud to have created the first high specification film studio in the St Albans area at such a pivotal moment for our industry. We look forward to welcoming our first production onto the stages at OMA V, and to delivering the same quality of service customers are already experiencing at our currently operational facilities, OMA One Film Studios and OMA X Film Studios.”
Samantha Perahia MBE, Head of Production UK, British Film Commission, says: “We welcome the opening of OMA V Film Studios which, building on timely and welcome action announced by Government in the Spring Budget, further demonstrates the strength of the UK’s world class film and TV industry, and its ability to contribute significantly to the UK economy as a whole.”
Launching their studio business in 2019, Location Collective has contributed to the production of acclaimed projects such as Napoleon, Loki, Slow Horses, Empire of Light, The Crown, Gladiator 2, Mission Impossible, Wicked, Masters of the Air, Wicked Little Letters, Mr Bates vs the Post Office, Black Mirror and The Boys in the Boat. Coming off the back of the Spring Budget announcement and the investment into UK studio spaces, and other facets of the industry, the new Hertfordshire based studio facility is set to contribute to an expected rise in productions both locally and internationally.
