Robert De Niro and Asa Butterfield star in British Arrows winning Uber campaign

Actors Robert De Niro and Asa Butterfield star in the British Arrows winning campaign for Uber titled Best Friends. The brand made for people who eat and go places brings together the unlikely pairing and takes them on a journey of friendship building. The project from advertising agency Mother and production company O positive is directed by David Shane.

“We both eat food and we both go places.” That was an enough of a commonality for Asa Butterfield to think that Robert De Niro was his best friends in the British Arrows winning Uber commercial from advertising agency Mother and production company. In a peeled back on set introduction, Butterfield seats himself next to the award-winning Hollywood icon as he indulges in a familiar takeaway.

After an awkward encounter filled with generic questions, the two embark on a fun filled day of shopping, watching movies and going to the park, travelling to and from with the help of Uber and their premium subscription service UberOne. Through out the commercial, the relationship between the two actors goes from seemingly uninterested to multiple journeys filled with fun, filters and many encounters with the Uber drivers along the way.

The David Shane project for production company O Positive and advertising agency Mother recently won the Gold Arrow for Transport and Tourism and the Bronze for Best Over 90 second commercial. The matter fact style was released across a number of platforms highlighting the Uber One membership scheme which allows customers to save money on Uber and Uber Eats. Nell Jordan served as producer on the project, with The Quarry on editorial and Theodore on music and post from company 1920.
