Advertorial: Pre-order Kahlil Joseph and the Audiovisual Atlantic
Bloomsbury to publish new book about celebrated director’s international productions.
A new book has been written about the work of director Kahlil Joseph. The award-winning creator has collaborated with FKA twigs, Flying Lotus, Kendrick Lamar, Sampha and Shabazz Palaces among many other critically-acclaimed musicians, directing films, music videos, advertisements and installations across Africa, America, Europe and the Caribbean.
This is the first major study of the filmmaker’s creative output. The book is written in an accessible style, offering insights into global media production through different case studies – from remotely-controlled art installations to transmedia advertisement campaigns – directed by Kahlil Joseph.
The forthcoming Bloomsbury publication is written by Joe Jackson, lecturer in communications and media at London College of Communication, University of the Arts London. He is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy and former web editor at The Location Guide. This is Joe’s first book.
The book’s foreword is written by Clive Chijioke Nwonka, associate professor in film, culture and society at University College London and editor of the forthcoming book Black Arsenal: Club, Culture, Identity.
Kahlil Joseph and the Audiovisual Atlantic: Music, Modernity, Transmedia Art is available to pre-order here. Further information is available on the Bloomsbury website.
