Film USA bigger and better at Cannes 2024

From 14 to 21 May, Film USA returns for their third year at Cannes, hosting their Pavilion at the Marché du Film. 17 Film USA members are in attendance at Cannes to peel back the curtain on filming across the States. Tomorrow marks Louisiana Day,  filled with insight into the cinematic landscape of the state, film education’s role in building the local industry, all brought to a close with a happy hour in true Cannes fashion.

It's been a fast paced start for Film USA who, for their third year at the Marché du Film, have expanded their Pavilion presence, located at the International Village, Pantiero (#202). With no central film commissioning body, Film USA brings together the powers of the respective state representatives, each highlighting their filming capabilities, providing assistance across location scouting, incentives, and logistics.

For this year, there are 17 Film USA members in attendance, including Film Baton Rouge, Chaffee County Film Office, Cherokee Film, Film Columbus, Film Columbus Georgia, Dallas Film Commission, Driftless Film Office, Film Liaisons in California Statewide, Houston Film Commission, Film Lauderdale, Louisiana Entertainment, Moab to Monument Valley Film Commission, Film New Orleans, Film Savannah, Film SF, Film Tampa Bay, Tulsa Office of Film, Music, Arts & Culture, and Upstate California Film Commission.

Kicking off the week, the collective gave the floor to the students, sharing their advice on how to tackle to the hustle and bustle of the festival, absorbing all the opportunities to learn. After a midday walking tour, the evening closed off with a student mixer, acclimatising the next generation to the Marché du Film world of networking. Today, The Location Guide team reconnected with our Film USA friends at the Pavilion, Film USA co-founders, Katie Patton Pryor, Baton Rouge film commissioner and Film USA and Tony Armer, Dallas film commissioner.
