Netflix series Pulse to film in New Mexico for Miami based medical drama
Amber Dodson, New Mexico Film Office director announced today that Netflix series Pulse will be filming in and around Albuquerque through August. The series, directed by Kate Dennis (New Amsterdam, The Handmaid’s Tale), stars Willa Fitzgerald, Colid Woodell, Justina Machado, and many more. The New Mexico shot production will employ over 200 local crew to bring the project to life.

"We are thrilled to announce another Netflix series that will be made right here in New Mexico,” Dodson stated. “Netflix is a New Mexico film partner, having made a decade-long commitment to invest in production, infrastructure, and job creation. Series such as "Pulse” create positive economic impact and opportunities for residents and businesses statewide while featuring our landscapes to a global audience.”
Through direct spending on productions, and wages paid to crew members and actors, as well as indirect spending at hotels, restaurants and other businesses, there has been significant economic impact on the local New Mexico industry, reaching USD 1 billion for the last calendar year. Continuing to support the local industry, filming for pulse will employ 200 New Mexican crew members as well as 39 background talent.
The series will focus on the story of Miami’s busiest Level 1 Trauma Centre staff as they navigate medical emergencies. When young ER doctor Danny Simms unexpectedly becomes chief resident amidst the fallout of her provocative romantic relationship, all drama ensues. Alongside Fitzgerald (The Fall of the House of Usher), Woodell (The Continental: From The World of John Wick) and Machado (The Horror of Delores Roach), the series will star Jack Bannon (Pennyworth), Jessie T Usher (Smile), Chelsea Muirhead (Warrior), Daniela Nieves (Vampire Academy), and Jessy Yates (Law and Order: Special Victims Unit).
Pulse is produced by Zoe Robyn (The Equalizer), Carlton Cuse (Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan), Kate Dennis (Run), Bradley Gardner (Teen Wolf: The Movie), Emma Forman (Locke & Key), and Michael Klick (Homeland) with Dennis, Sarah Boyd (For All Mankind), and SJ Main Muñoz, Wendey Stanzler (Sex and the City).
