Stink Films joins forces with Service Plan for Bitburger UEFA 2024 campaign
Stink Films Berlin based arm took a trip around Germany with director Eliot Rausch for a UEFA 2024 campaign for national partner Bitburger. The commercial captures real life football fans enjoying the excitement of the sport no matter where they are. The project is from Service Plan agency.
“Travelling through Germany for a while changed me. And it quickly became evident that in a post Covid world, we long to be connected rather than divided,” commented director Eliot Rausch. “With a trustworthy client, an inventive agency, a hopeful script, and a few vans packed to the brim with our production team, we travelled from Berlin to Hamburg, to Gelsenkirchen, Lindau and Weimar. No actors, just real people and their friends, and friends of friends. It was a celebration of our togetherness, that powerful élan vital, captured all to invigorate Germany’s journey towards the 2024 Euro Cup.”
With a voice over by Massive Voices, the commercial mixes scenes of everyday lives from barber shops, pub crawls, and even weddings, interjected with the film snap shots by photographer Florian Schüppel of the varying celebrations. During the production team’s road trip, through rain on the occasional sunny day, they were able to capture how the sportsmanship travels beyond the football pitch, with the cast of everyday people fixating to their phone screens and the making their makeshift viewing set ups to keep up with the score.
The Bitburger project led by Rausch was curated by DoP Cedric Schanze, executive produced by Mortiz Merkel with production from Michael Hessenbruch and Nikita Mikitib, post production by nhb studios, and music and sound design by Staub Audio.
