If the exhilarating racing wasn’t enough for fans travelling to Northamptonshire for the British Grand prix at Silverstone, the A-list celebrity spotting may have sealed the deal. This weekend, Pitt returned to the tracks of the British Grand Prix to resume filming for his upcoming Formula One based project F1, following the strikes last year that halted production. Made in collaboration with Formula 1, the films stars Pitt as a former driver Sonny Hayes returning to the circuits alongside his APX GP teammate played by Damson Idris.
The cast also includes Academy Award nominee Kerry Condon, Academy Award winner Javier Bardem, Emmy Award winner and Golden Globe Award nominee Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia and Samson Kayo. Immersing itself in the true energy of Formula One, the project has been filming during actual Grand Prix weekends as the team competes against the titans of the sport.
Kosinski, known for his work on Top Gun Maverick serves as director on the project, as well as producing alongside Jerry Bruckheimer and Chad Oman of Jerry Bruckheimer Films; Pitt, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner for Plan B Entertainment; and seven-time world champion Hamilton under his Dawn Apollo Films banner. Kosinski’s former Top Gun colleague Ehren Kruger writes the screenplay with Penni Thow, CEO of Copper serving as executive producer.
