11th annual LMGI Awards winners announced

This year’s LMGI Awards saw Oppenheimer and Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning-Part 1, take home the Motion Picture Award on Saturday 24 August. For their 11th annual awards ceremony, the organsiation celebrated a number of winners  including Fallout, Fargo and Ripley for their stand out location work, as well as a number of honourees for their contributions to the industry.

The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts welcomed an audience of 400 for this year’s much anticipated LMGI Awards. Hosted by actress and producer Rachael Harris (Suits, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, The Hangover), the evening once again focused on spotlighting professionals and location across features, television and commercials.

 

This year, Fallout, filmed in Utah, New York and Namibia, Fargo, filmed in Alberta, Canada, and Ripley, filmed across Italy, came out on top as the winners across the Television Series category. Film in Iceland took home the award for Outstanding Film Commission along with Toyota’s Present from the Pat winning the ward for Outstanding Location in a Commercial.

This year’s ceremony also saw  key industry figures and bodies honoured for their contributions to the industry. The Location Guide’s very own commercial director Clara Le presented the Trailblazer Award to location manager Bill Bowling for his work on projects such as Jupiter Ascending and Cloud Atlas. This year’s Lifetime Achievement Award went to location manager Sue Quinn, presented by Martini Film Studios vice president David Shepheard, whilst The Motion Picture and Television Fund took home the LMGI Humanitarian Award, presented by Camilla Belle.

 

Additional presenters included Helena-Alexis Seymour (Chronicles of Jessica Wu), Kate Linder (Young and the Restless), Doug Jones (The Shape of Water, Pan’s Labyrinth), ten time Olympic swimming medallist  Gary Hall Jr, AFCI executive director and Jaclyn, among others.
