Netflix's The Union is an international spy adventure

London’s BT tower stands tall amongst the city’s most notable high rises, but for Netflix’s The Union, the stand out building acts as the inconspicuous head quarters for the secret organisation after the film’s namesake. This would mark one amongst many  of the notable London sites featured in the new flick released Friday 16. Directed by Julian Farino from a script by Joe Barton and David Guggenheim, the film stars Halle Berry and Mark Wahlberg.

Simple New Jersey construction worker Mike, played by Wahlberg, finds himself whisked away by high school sweetheart turned undercover agent Roxanne, played by Berry, for The Union. From Jersey to London, the duo’s adventures take them all across England’s capital, capturing landmarks such as The Albert Memorial and Savoy Theatre.

For the New Jersey born Mike, life revolves around his hometown of Jersey City. Capturing a more mundane aspect of the movie, shooting took place in Kearny town, part of Hudson County, and Paterson, the largest city of Passaic County. Other location used for the internationally shot feature include Piran, Slovenia near the famous 13th Piran Lighthouse Church and staggering setting in Croatia for the final sequence of the film which took 450 crew members and several weeks to capture, as well as Trieste Italy for the high octane opener at the Savoia Excelsior Palace.

Alongside Berry and Wahlberg The Union stars J.K. Simmons, Mike Colter, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Jessica De Gouw, Alice Lee, Jackie Earle Haley, Stephen Campbell Moore, and Lorraine Bracco.
