Season Three of HBO’s Industry makes its debut
HBO original drama series Industry made its debut this weekend on 11 August. The eight episode series will welcome back familiar faces from the cast, as well as newcomers including Kit Harrington. The series, set in the financial district of London shot at Wolf Studios as well as other locations across Cardiff, Wales.
Season one of Industry kept the high octane corporate drama energy of Succession at HBO after its premiere in 2020. Filming for season three returned to the home of Industry, Cardiff, Wales, setting up at Wolf Studios. Wolf Studios has an overall footprint of 255,000 sq ft, including 7 stages, one of which is the tallest in the UK. Other Wales based locations include the Haydn Ellis Building on Cardiff’s Maindy Road, which is part of the city’s university, Parkgate Hotel, and the seaside town of Penarth.
It wouldn’t be the financial district of London without some appearance from the city for filming. Locations such as Southwark Bridge were captured for exterior shots. Bristol was also featured in the latest season for its restaurant Brown’s and a private residence. Juxtaposing the concrete jungle aesthetic of the series, Mallorca was visited for filming one of the tense scenes between Yasmin and her father while situated on a luxury yacht.
Additions to the cast include Harington as Henry Muck, Sarah Goldberg as Petra Koenig, Miriam Petche as Sweetpea Golightly, Andrew Cavill as Lord Norton, Roger Barclay as Otto Mostyn, Fady Elsayed as Ali El Mansour, and Fiona Button as Denise Oldroyd. Returning cast members include Myha'la, Marisa Abela, Harry Lawtey, Ken Leung, Conor MacNeill, Sagar Radia, Indy Lewis, Adam Levy, Sarah Parish, Trevor White, Elena Saurel and Irfan Shamji.
Industry follows the lives of a group of young bankers as they attempt to navigate their careers at Pierpoint & Co's London office. Season three will capture as Pierpoint looks to the future and takes a big bet on ethical investing, Yasmin (Marisa Abela), Robert (Harry Lawtey), and Eric (Ken Leung) find themselves front and center in the splashy IPO of Lumi, a green tech energy company led by Henry Muck (Kit Harington), in a story that runs all the way to the very top of finance, media, and government. Since leaving Pierpoint, Harper (Myha'la) is eager to get back into the addictive thrill of finance and finds an unlikely partner in FutureDawn portfolio manager Petra Koenig (Sarah Goldberg).
Industry is created, written, and executive produced by Mickey Down & Konrad Kay. The series is a Bad Wolf Production for HBO/BBC and is executive produced by Jane Tranter, Kate Crowther, and Ryan Rasmussen for Bad Wolf; and Rebecca Ferguson for BBC.
