Thailand’s new Figment Studios receives over 200 million Baht investment
The Studio Park, StageFor and Supreme Studio have collectively invested 200 million Baht (over USD 6 million) for the launch of Figment Studio. The new production studio is equipped with some of the most advanced virtual production technology in Southeast Asia for their intended clientele of both domestic and international film and advertising projects. The press conference for the launch was led by members of the ministry of tourism and sports, as well as representatives for film business promotion and international trade promotion.
Welcoming projects such as the third season of The White Lotus and Hollywood blockbuster Jurassic World 4, Thailand has been a sought after site for international productions. Over the past year alone, Figment Studio investor StageFor has worked on three Netflix projects, including the series Sueb Sundan (Master of the House), as well as collaborating on the Alien Earth series by FX, which was filmed in Thailand. StageFor was the main operator for the virtual production/ICVFX system throughout the shoot.

The recent launch of Figment Studio only builds on this, evolving with the everchanging industry, and ensuring local facilities are equipped with the most up to date developments. In partnering with StageFor and Supreme Studio, the new facilities will draw on the expertise around XR, virtual production and the technologies needed to ascertain a reputable position in this field, as well as the experience of Studio Park, offering Thailand’s largest sound stage.

At the press conference Sorawong Thienthong, minister of tourism and Sports was joined by director-general of the Department of Tourism Jaturon Phakdeewanit, Dr. Panidapa Suankaew, chief of the Film Business Promotion Section, Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Mr. Surachit Phongsinghvithya, chairman of the Bangkok Metropolitan Council, and a representative of the Department of International Trade Promotion for the launch of Figment Studio.
