Netflix drama, Chambers, to film in New Mexico

Chambers, an upcoming drama series produced by Netflix and Benefactor Productions has begun filming on location in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Principal photography is expected to continue until early-November.

"New Mexico's dedication to creating a film friendly environment is paying off - we are proud to welcome a team with such a successful track record of past productions," said Film Office Director Nick Maniatis. "Our infrastructure, robust workforce, and powerful incentives have catalyzed New Mexico's film industry growth and development."

A total of 180 New Mexico crew members will be employed throughout the production, in addition to 75 local actors and 400 local background talent.

Combining horror with drama, Chambers will follow the tale a young heart attack survivor who finds herself embodying the characteristics of her donor, some of which reveal a sinister history.

Executive Producers include Alfonso Gomez-Rejon, Stephen Gaghan, Wolfgang Hammer and Winnie Kemp. Gomez-Rejon will also direct at least two episodes.

New Mexico has already been used as the backdrop for several Netflix productions including The Ballad of Buster Scruggs and Messiah, the latter of which is currently using the state as a double for Middle Eastern locations.

Demi Moore’s upcoming film, Corporate Animals, is also currently filming in New Mexico – combining locations in Santa Fe and Abiquiu.

New Mexico boasts one of the one financially competitive film incentives on the market, which has played a key part in developing the state as a go-to destination for filmmakers. With no minimum spend or minimum shoot days required, producers can tap into a 25% refundable tax credit upon utilising the state for filming.
