Montenegro increases cash rebate to 25%

The new scheme surpasses the previous incentive by five percent and will apply to features and TV series.

Overseeing the incentive is the Film Centre of Montenegro, who explain that change has been made to “encourage filming at domestic locations and to make positive impact on new projects of foreign producers that intend to film in Montenegro”.

Image MontenegroInternational or co-produced feature films, documentaries and animations, as well as TV films and series that meet the minimum local spend of EUR100,000 will be able to access the rebate.

Projects will undergo a cultural test and must make use of Montenegro’s crew, talent and production capabilities.

Most recently, Michael Noer’s Papillon and Ka-lok Chin’s Golden Job used Montenegrin locations. Find out more about the rebate here.
