Tomorrow night, the Production Guild of Great Britain (PGGB) will celebrate the winners of the 2022 PGGB Awards in association with Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden. The UK industry gathers to recognise remarkable achievements made by Production Guild members working in film or television drama. Hosted by comedian and TV presenter Patrick Kielty, six awards will be presented on Saturday 26 March at The Grove in Hertfordshire.

To mark the new patronage, Prince Edward visited Twickenham Film Studios in West London, the UK’s oldest film studio. Crew United has launched an online platform to help people in Ukraine. Filmmakers-for-Ukraine is an information site where Ukrainian filmmakers and their families can quickly find help. In collaboration with professional associations, institutions and numerous colleagues from the film industry, Filmmakers-for-Ukraine provides updates about aid and support in a simple, up-to-the-minute manner. Vulnerable or disadvantaged communities in Ukraine - such as BIPoC, LGBTQIA+, Roma, people with disabilities, children, and sick and elderly people - are also offered support alongside filmmakers and their families.

Kyiv-based company Radioaktive is set to move its production base to Poland. The group shares offices in the country with service specialists TwentyfourSeven, where the two companies launched a joint production venture. Together, the organisations will donate all profits raised through their partnership to Ukrainian causes until tensions with Russia subside.

Film AlUla - the Royal Commission for AlUla’s film agency - has partnered with the UK’s Creative Media Skills Institute to deliver a 10-day film industry bootcamp in Saudi Arabia. Launching in March 2022, the scheme will prepare 25 local trainees from AlUla to follow careers in Production and Assistant Directing as well as the Art, Locations, Costume, Make-up and Hair departments. This training programme is led by award-winning film professionals and hosted in the stunning landscape of AlUla, home to the UNESCO World Heritage site Hegra.
