The Gerety Awards has revealed its shortlisted UK entries. Entrants for the 2022 edition of the competition include: The Fantastic World of Smoothness - for Tequila Maestro Dobel, by The Lift London; #painstories - for Bodyform/Libresse, by AMVBBDO London; and Time Keeper - for Janssen, by Edelman London. Riff Raff Films, DentusMB Manchester, The Gate London, Lucky Generals, McCann London and FCB Ferno are also among 2022's UK shortlist. This industry event celebrates advertising campaigns that resonate with a female audience, featuring work from top creatives based all over the world.

The winners have been unveiled for The AICP Awards 2022. Judging was led by the respective chairpersons for each main category: Mal Ward - Partner/Managing Director of Arts & Sciences, Chairperson of the AICP Show; Scott Donaton - SVP/Head of Marketing at Hulu, Judging Chair for the AICP Next Awards; and Yvette Cobarrubias - Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Cosmo Street, Chairperson of the AICP Post Awards. AICP CEO Matt Miller, alongside Ward and Cobarrubias, headlined the gala presentation at The Museum of Modern Art, celebrating the year’s best advertising achievements.

Broward County has updated its production incentives scheme. Each project’s eligibility will now be determined on a case-by-case basis. Rebates are issued once a project is completed and can provide proof that the necessary requirements have been satisfied. A certain percentage of each project must be produced in the County, and a minimum amount of local spending is also needed.

ITV has commissioned a new medical thriller. The five-part series – titled Malpractice – will be produced by World Productions and directed by Boiling Point’s Philip Barantini. The script is written by former doctor Grace Ofori-Attah. Filming is set to take place in and around Leeds, with BAFTA-nominated actress Niamh Algar starring as protagonist Dr Lucinda Edwards.

Netflix and Sky have announced the inaugural cohort for their first UK Screenwriters' Fellowship. This fellowship is designed to give the UK’s brightest new voices a chance to work alongside a Netflix or Sky writers’ room and, in turn, receive their first television credit. Screenwriter Bisha K. Ali is spearheading the project. Her credits include: Marvel Studios’ Ms. Marvel – for which she was Head Writer – as well as the first series of Sex Education, where she was part of the writing team.

A new Disney+ series about British punk band Sex Pistols features a wide range of London locations. Pistol is the story of a group of spotty, noisy kids who challenged the establishment with their countercultural way of life. The show is based on Lonely Boy: Tales from a Sex Pistol, the memoir of guitarist Steve Jones. New members announced for PGGB's Northern Ireland Committee

The Production Guild of Great Britain (PGGB) has revealed the members of its new Northern Ireland Committee. This announcement marks the second of six National and Regional Committees being establishing by the UK’s leading membership body for production professionals. The PGGB Northern Ireland Committee is sponsored by cast and crew specialists Sargent-Disc. It will be chaired by Belfast-based freelance producer Amanda Black, who is currently producing Mammoth Screen’s second series of BBC One war drama World on Fire.
