Spielberg support helps save London's Twickenham Film Studios from closure

Twickenham Film Studios (TFS) in south-west London is to continue making films. Its closure was announced in January 2012 following slow business, but a campaign to keep it open won high-profile support from the likes of Steven Spielberg, who used the facilities for War Horse.

In recent months the studio has come under the ownership of Twickenham Studios Ltd, managed by property magnate Sonny Vohra, and refurbishments have been promised for the near future.

Twickenham Film Studios will celebrate its centenary in 2013. Thatcher biopic The Iron Lady and Asif Kapadia’s acclaimed Formula One documentary Senna are among the recent productions to have used its facilities.
