Formula One films Great Ocean Road for Australian Grand Prix promotion

A Formula One car has been driven along Victoria’s Great Ocean Road to promote the upcoming Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne. The campaign was organised by the Australian Grand Prix Corporation and Tourism Victoria.

“International motorsport already showcases the stunning scenery Victoria has to offer through events at Albert Park and at Phillip Island,” said Australian Grand Prix Corporation Chief Executive Officer Andrew Westacott: “This drive down the Great Ocean Road is just another way motorsport has helped sell this state to the world."

“The imagery is breathtaking," Westacott adds: "The combination of a Formula One car and our iconic coastline is unique.”

Victoria’s Great Ocean Road spans about 150 miles of coastline and the driver was obliged to stay within the legal speed limit throughout. The road connects the cities of Torquay and Warnambool in south-eastern Australia, and is one of the state’s main tourist attractions.
