Indian film 24 shot on location in Poland

The Indian science-fiction film 24 was shot on location in multiple areas throughout Poland. Directed by Vikram K. Kumar, 24 will tell the story of a scientist who travels through time and becomes embroiled in a fight between his twin brother and his son. Acclaimed Tamil actor Suriya will portray multiple roles alongside Samantha Ruth Prabhu.

The production travelled throughout Poland to film at a variety of locations including Krakow, Góra Zborów, Zakopane, Leba, Lewin Kłodzki, Jedlina Zdroj, Wałbrzych, Bulowice and Nowe Brzesko.

Production services were provided by Images & Worlds, with Anuj Sharma explaining: “Poland was chosen as the shooting location because the 24 crew got all the locations they wanted in the country for action scenes, songs and drama. Images and Worlds provided the action team from the Czech Republic and all the production crew, talents and equipment from Poland and managed the whole shot in Poland.”

He continues: “the film was shot during September end and October for almost 25 days (20 shooting days). It was getting colder and the actors had to perform songs in cold temperature, the action team was very efficient and had rehearsed on the location which made it easier during the shoot. The team travelled all over Poland to shoot the film.”

Poland currently lacks an official film incentive programme but a number of regional film funds are in operation which cater to both domestic and international co-productions. The Polish Film Institute will offer funding to co-productions if 80% of their overall budget is spent within the country.

Recent interest from American Producers has drawn productions such as Valley of the Gods and Music, War and Love to film on location.
