Utah wants film incentive uncapped

Utah's economic development department wants to remove the USD500,000 limit on film incentives offered to film productions in the state. Removing the cap would allow Utah to compete more effectively with neighbouring states.

Jason Perry, executive director of the Governor's Office of Economic Development, said: "Right now, we're in the lowest category of incentives. This would put us to the middle of the pack."

Utah offers a fully refundable 15% rebate on in state production expenses for projects with a Utah spend of over USD1 million. The current USD500,000 per project cap
