Today, the winners for the 2024 straight 8 shoot out were announced in Cannes’ Cinema les Arcades. From the 15 entrants, 3 companies were awarded in the gold, silver and bronze categories, as well as a special additional audience awardee. The show will rescreen at The Prince Charles Cinema in London on 27 June 2024.
Berlinale director Tricia Tuttle has appointed Jacqeline Lyanga and Michael Stütz as film programming co-directors for the festival. The two in-house additions contribute to Tuttle’s efforts to put a new executive team in place. Lyanga and Stütz will work with Tuttle on selecting titles for the competition and Berlinale special selections, working to “lead the wider team to shape an overall film selection.”
Veteran supervising location manager Sue Quinn will honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award at this year’s LMGI Awards. The 2024 Gerety Awards have announced their shortlist which among the UK included AMVBBDO, McCann Manchester, Edelman, NOMINT and Riff Raff. A total of 394 entries were shortlisted from 35 different countries. Following the judging sessions that were held around the world, this week you can watch the jury insight panels LIVE from UK, USA, Poland, Canada, France, AUNZ, East Asia, LATAM, Spain, Netherlands, Middle East and Belgium. Final winners will be announced on 3 September.
Short filmmaking competition straight 8 shootout returns to the Croisette for the screening of the daring entrants. Presented in partnership with the APA and Cinelab Film+Digital with support from SHOTS, Warner Chappell Production Music and MACHINESHOP, the projects will undergo a live vote in Cannes with a trophy ceremony to round of the events.
