After more than 1000 entries were submitted for consideration, the shortlist of projects now in the running to compete at the 7th annual Ciclope Festival have been announced. The winners of the bronze, silver and gold awards in each category will be announced November 4th at 7:30pm.
Airing on ABC and hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, the 68th Primetime Emmy Awards took place last night to honour the very best examples of television entertainment throughout the last year. Most expectations were met as HBO’s powerhouse series Game of Thrones took away the award for Outstanding Drama Series along with 11 others.
After receiving three Academy Awards and three Golden Globes, The Revenant’s incredibly successful awards period continued this weekend at the Location Managers Guild International Awards, taking home the award for Outstanding Locations in a Period Film. Portions of the film were shot on location in Alberta, Canada but the production later moved to Tierra del Fuego in search of more snow.
After being nominated on six separate occasions, Leonardo DiCaprio has finally won his first Oscar for his portrayal of Hugh Glass in Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s survival epic The Revenant, which was filmed on location in Alberta and Tierra del Fuego.
After two days of networking, industry talks and panels, interviews and incredible parties, the first FOCUS has officially come to an end. We would like to extend our thanks to not only our exhibitors but to everyone in attendance at this year’s event, without whom FOCUS would not have been such a success.
