We’ve covered two doubling projects from the commercials industry this week, with the French Dairy Council doubling Buenos Aires for France and Dr Pepper turning Barcelona into an unidentified US metropolis. Elsewhere there was bad news for Pinewood Studios in the UK as its expansion plans failed to win approval, while Raleigh Studios is expanding to Utah.

Over in the US New Mexico has finally secured location filming for The Lone Ranger, while North Carolina may be on target to become a major production centre.

Kodak, one of the world’s most recognisable suppliers of film and photographic products, is likely to file for bankruptcy within the next few weeks. The company has had its share of problems since foreign competitors entered the market in the 1980s, but more recently the growth of digital photography has had a big impact.
