In the week marking the first anniversary of our new website being launched, the focus is once again on filming incentives in the US, while specific geographic needs have resulted in the new Mad Max sequel relocating from Australia. In the UK new plans are underway to continue boosting location filming in London around the Olympics.

In the US Spielberg’s long-time producer, Kathleen Kennedy, has been talking about the director’s ongoing Lincoln shoot in Virginia, while Alaskans debate the state of their filming incentive. Elsewhere, Chivas Regal has filmed a new commercial short in Chile’s Atacama Desert.

Good news for the UK this week as the location filming tax relief scheme was renewed through to 2015. Also in Europe Julia Wülker of the FilmFernsehFonds Bayern gave us an insight into the Bavarian filming locations used for The Three Musketeers. Elsewhere there’s been activity in Australia and New Zealand.

It’s been an eventful week in South America, with Tiger Beer and Johnnie Walker active in Chile and Brazil, respectively. Further north Spielberg’s been hard at work with his new feature Lincoln in Virginia. On the other side of the US Chevy dropped one of its new cars out of an aeroplane. We also spoke to location professionals in Sweden and Ethiopia.
