As the first collaboration between the independent film studio and the actor, Nicholas Cage is set to lead eclectic horror comedy Dream Scenario. From writer/director Kristoffer Borgli and producer Ari Aster, the film places Cage as professor Paul Matthews and his unexplained cameos in other people’s dreams. The film, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival will hit theatres on 10 November.
Marking the biggest series to be filmed in South Australia, Netflix announced the beginning of production on Desert King. The joint production between Easy Tiger and Ronde, created by Tim Lee and Ben Davies, will be helmed by director Greg McLean. Production is set to significantly contribute to the local South Australian economy and industry, providing 240 jobs across cast and crew.
After its successful release on 31 August, Netflix announced that One Piece will return to the streaming platform. Based on Japan’s highest-selling manga series, the live action series stars Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji. Filming for the series took place in South Africa, the Canary Islands and Mexico.
Netflix released the trailer and first images for Zack Snyder’s first instalment of Rebel Moon. The space sci-fi film follows on from Snyder’s success with the streaming service with Army of the Dead. The feature, starring Kingsman: The Secret Service and Star Trek Beyond actress Sofia Boutella, wrapped filming last December in California.
After wrapping production in July of last year, the much anticipated onscreen arrival of DC Comics’ Blue Beetle is here. Shot in Wilder Studios, Decatur, Georgia and San Juan, Puerto Rico, the Latin-led super hero feature stars Xolo Maridueña as the blue shelled protagonist. Charm City Kings director Angel Manuel Soto took to the helm of the Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer written production.

Teasing a brief video on X teasing a Loki collaboration on 7 August, the fast food chain extended their campaign roll out with an extended clip showing Loki and Sylvie meeting once again, this time in an unexpected environment.

With titles including Summer Fling, Breakfast Boy and You Took Him Home, each of the projects showcase the romantic whimsy of dating today coated in dreamy aesthetics. The overarching campaign It Starts With a Swipe carries a gen-z focused essence exploring diversity of relationships that consider all audiences and users of the dating app.
With just under a month to go, Prime Video’s upcoming project Sitting in Bars with Cake has released their trailer. The Yara Shahidi and Odessa A’zion led film follows the true story of two twenty-somethings navigating their life in Los Angeles when a combination of baked goods and bar settings lead them on an unexpected adventure. Exploring some Los Angeles gems, Sitting in Bars with Cake is set to premier on the streaming service 8 September 2023.
