Monterey County Film Commission
Monterey County has been called the “Greatest Meeting of Land and Sea.” With its beautiful and diverse locations, filmmakers have been drawn here for decades.
You’ll find dramatic coastal settings including Carmel-by-the-Sea, Big Sur, Monterey and the rural and agricultural looks in the Salinas Valley. Hundreds of feature films have shot scenes here, from “East of Eden,” “Play Misty for Me,” and on to recent TV shows like “Big Little Lies.”
It’s the chosen place for hundreds of commercials, documentaries, travelogues and more with its world-famous Bixby Bridge and nearly 90 miles of wild and scenic Highway One, plus “Steinbeck Country,” with field crops, farms and ranches, vineyards and more than a thousand miles of county roads.
