These are some of the main incentives created by the new Costa Rica Film Investment Attraction Law:
• Cash back of 90% of taxes (11,7 % of the budget) in 60 days after application is summit. The investment in Costa Rica requires to meet a minimum of US$500,000.
• The State and its institutions will provide permits for access and filming of projects in areas or locations that are under its administration.
• Temporary import of equipment and spare parts for film and audiovisual production to the territory with suspension of all import taxes.
• Local governments may authorize the exemption of taxes and fees to natural or legal persons who are beneficiaries of this law.
• Temporary immigration status to foreigners who are necessary for the execution of the production.
