  • We are a Japanese Production Co (I-F-D) with a production planning to shoot in French Polynesia (Tahiti). We would appreciate any information on shooting in the region including contacts for production service companies, location fixers, local crew and equipment availability etc… Many thanks, Miki

    Hello Miki,

There isn’t much Film equipment you can rent in French Polynesia. Equipment usualy comes from Los Angeles or Sydney. Unless you are doing a TV production and need basic equipment.
I have a list I can send to you e-mail from a rental company.

For location , coordination and productions in French Polynesia:

    Dear Miki

New Zealand also services the Pacific Islands including Tahiti, and is more economical than getting crew and equipment from USA or Australia. Have personally spent some good time in Moorea and Bora Bora. Let us know if we can help with anything.

Hi Miki, our company is based in the Cook Islands, one hour flight from Tahiti. Please let’s know the equipments you need and see what we can do to help.
By the way, the Cook Islands, expecially Aitutaki, has been used as a location for a number of movies and commercials, and we can offer beaches and lagoons second to none. We can send you a small clip on that.
Lately the last episode of Shipwreck was filmed in Aitutaki and it seems it will be the next location for Survivors.

    Hi Miki

Apologies for not getting back to you sooner, I did get your message. We have worked in Bora Bora before
New Zealand is able to service the region – however crew and equipment need to be flown in. Please feel free to contact me if you need more information

Hi Miki – Ive lived / worked in French Polynesia. I’d recomend you work with a local based prod service crew. Tahiti is a minefield of politics and regulations and of course you will want to work with a fluent French crew. I speak good French but local is best. Good luck. James – http://www.moviesnz.com
