Global locations star for Dune, The Power of the Dog and many more at BAFTAs 2022

Dune and The Power of the Dog were among the top performing films at the 2022 EE British Academy of Film and Television Arts awards. An array of global filming destinations were showcased at the event as Denis Villeneuve’s Dune picked up five awards and Jane Campion’s The Power of the Dog won Best Film and Best Director. Dune was filmed across four key locations: the Wadi Rum in Jordan, the Liwa desert outside Abu Dhabi, the northwest coast of Norway, and the soundstages of Origo Studio in Hungary’s Budapest. Set in 1920s Montana, American-Western drama The Power of the Dog was shot across New Zealand in the capital city Auckland, the Maniototo Plain of Central Otago, and the coastal regions of Dunedin and Oamaru.

The state of Massachusetts’ tax incentive programme could be scaled back under a new proposal by Governor Charlie Baker. As part of his budget proposal for 2017, Baker has called for a USD7 million cap to be implemented per production after his previous efforts to scrap the programme entirely were thrown out.
