Liverpool’s Littlewoods building prepares for film and TV transformation

Liverpool Film Office announced yesterday the start of preparation to transform the city’s former  Little woods building into a film and TV campus. Expected to run until next summer, the construction will start with the development of two new 20,000 sq ft studios to welcome big budget productions. Positioning the city as the ‘Hollywood of the North’, the new facility will cater to both professional visitors and the surrounding community alike.

On Friday 9 December, Supply 2 Location opened their newest Northern dept on Merseyside. Measuring in at over 4,000 sq ft, the branch was opened by local mp the Rt. Hon. Sir George Howarth with the support of the Liverpool Film Office. This site adds to the already existing North-Western facilities.

Set in Dublin, Ireland, the series follows an investigation into a murder of a girl found at an ancient stone alter deep in Knocknaree woods, where twenty one years earlier three boys went missing. Out of the twenty-six weeks spent filming on location, the production spent just two in the Republic of Ireland.
