Belfast’s RENDR festival is returning for its second edition from 29 February to 1 March. With a lineup from across the film, gaming, interactive and animation industries, the festival includes speakers from Netflix, Pixar and Sony Pictures Imageworks.
Lites offers custom built floating platforms that can hold up to 30 tonnes of set. Exterior boat decks or interior sets can float, rock on the waves, tilt 90°, capsize, and sink underwater while offering full safety for the people on the platforms.

Manchester based Chief Productions set off on a country hopping round of journeys to capture Qatar Airways’ newest on-board safety video. With a network of more than 150 destinations, the airline's production settled in Cape Town, London, Kuala Lumpur, Los Angeles, Sydney, Maldives and the centre of the worldwide hub, Qatar. Sending Postcards from Qatar to the World is no easy feat. Gutsy animations announced today the recommissioning of Emmy nominated animated series Moominvalley for a fourth season. Supported by broadcasters Sky (UK) and Yle (Finland), the series will be joined by its new co-production partner Viaplay Group. The boarding of the new partner for the series will allow all four seasons to be aired on the Viaplay streaming platform across multiple territories including Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Poland and the Netherlands.
On 13 October, Stage Fifty announced their submission to Buckinghamshire Council for the development of Wycombe Film Studios. With a decision to me made in January 2023, the opening of the studio is projected to support around 1,200 jobs and produce an economic output of GBP 305 million.
The Film in Malaysia Incentive (FIMI) has been increased. The country’s core 30% incentive can be boosted by an additional 5% cash rebate if projects pass a cultural test. A minimum of MYR5 million (around EUR1.086 million) must be spent on production work, or production and post-production work combined, in order to receive the rebate. Qualifying expenditure includes local and foreign equipment hires as well as transport and hotel costs in Malaysia.
UK-based media company Space Entertainment Enterprise (SEE) will launch the first entertainment studio and multi-purpose arena based in space. Named SEE-1, the construction is designed to allow producers to create media content in a low-orbit micro-gravity environment. Spaceflight services group Axiom Space are building the new project. They will use SEE-1 to dock their world-first commercial space station Axiom Station, which is connected to the International Space Station (ISS).
