WWE Raw finds new home at Netflix

As part of a new long term deal that brings weekly live sports entertainment to Netflix, WWE Raw will be coming to the streaming platform at the beginning of 2025. The USD 5 billion deal marks the first time WWE Raw will be away from linear television in 31 years. The franchise will be brought to Netflix in the U.S, Canada, the U.K and Latin America.

Dune and The Power of the Dog were among the top performing films at the 2022 EE British Academy of Film and Television Arts awards. An array of global filming destinations were showcased at the event as Denis Villeneuve’s Dune picked up five awards and Jane Campion’s The Power of the Dog won Best Film and Best Director. Dune was filmed across four key locations: the Wadi Rum in Jordan, the Liwa desert outside Abu Dhabi, the northwest coast of Norway, and the soundstages of Origo Studio in Hungary’s Budapest. Set in 1920s Montana, American-Western drama The Power of the Dog was shot across New Zealand in the capital city Auckland, the Maniototo Plain of Central Otago, and the coastal regions of Dunedin and Oamaru.

Los Angeles hit by drop in on location filming

The number of feature films shot on location in Los Angeles fell by nearly a third in 2017’s first quarter, according to a new report from FilmL.A., Inc. A 36.3% drop was calculated in comparison to the same period in 2016 which incurred 1,145 shoot days, superior to this quarter’s 729 days.
