Paramount+ announced on 30 January the casting for new original UK drama series The Killing Kind. Based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Jane Casey, The series will be produced by Eleventh Hour Films. Shot on location at Bristol’s The Bottle Yard Studios and moving to London later this year, the new series will star Emma Appleton and Colin Morgan as the leading characters.
The Gerety Awards celebrated the recent announcement of their shortlist with an Argentinian barbeque. The party took place at Cannes Lions 2022 thanks to support from hosts Tantor Films. Over 500 guests from 40 different countries joined the fun, honouring past and present judges as well as this year’s shortlist.
The fundraising campaign for the Ukrainian filmmaking community will continue at Cannes Lions with support from Gerety Awards and Tantor Films. Ukrainian lapel pins will be available at the Gerety Awards and Tantor Films villa events, and a minimum donation of EUR10 is required for each lapel pin.
A new B2B category has been revealed for the 2022 edition of the Gerety Awards. This new part of the competition will celebrate the best in creativity for advertising products and services between businesses. Alongside the unveiling of the new B2B category, the competition has decided to extend its deadline. Applicants now have until 15th April to submit their advertising, marketing and creative communications work.
The Gerety Awards has announced the ten international cities that its ambassadors will meet in 2022. London will feature alongside New York, São Paulo, México city, Copenhagen, Moscow, Brussels, Vienna, Manila and Tokyo. The full executive jury from each city will be revealed very soon. As well as defining the overall shortlist, these juries will choose the agency and production company of the year from their respective countries.
A star-studded line-up of leading businesswomen will represent the UK as part of 2022’s Gerety Awards Grand Jury. Named after copywriter Frances Gerety (who coined the iconic De Beers slogan: “A diamond is forever”) the awards ceremony celebrates the best women in advertising and marketing. UK representatives on this year’s jury include: Chaka Sobhani, global chief creative officer at Leo Burnett Worldwide, and Imali Hettiarachchi, global brand strategist at the LEGO Group.
