A new virtual production studio is coming to central London from the partnership between Anna Valley and Green Studios. The entertainment technology company is set to bring an over 150 sq metre volume and supporting crew along with technology to the Green Studios’ London based facility. This announcement, made yesterday, follows the companies’ collaboration on the recent SMPTE Virtual Production Showcase that was held at Garden Studios and featured an LED volume by Anna Valley.

Set Ready returns to South London for screen industry training programme

Non-profit training and employment organisation Set Ready have announced their next free TV and film industry training programme. With trainees who have worked on esteemed projects such as Spectre, The Crown and Ted Lasso, Set Ready are giving opportunities to many who might experience barriers with entering the industry. The programme is in association with the JGA Group as part of the Pan-London Creativity squared project funded by the Greater London Authority and European Social Fund. The upcoming event will take place from 28 to 30 March at the Churchill Theatre in Bromley.

Michael Beaven takes on deputy CEO role at the PGGB

The Production Guild of Great Britain announced today that Michael Beaven has been promoted into the role of deputy CEO. In his new role, Beaven will work with PGGB’s CEO and Board of Trustees helping to develop and deliver the business strategy of the organisation, as well as oversee operational delivery. The newly instated deputy CEO is being promoted from his previous PGGB role as director of partnerships and projects and will bring his past experience as Warner Bros Pictures head of events and national publicity.

Paramount+ announces cast for new series The Killing Kind

Paramount+ announced on 30 January the casting for new original UK drama series The Killing Kind. Based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Jane Casey, The series will be produced by Eleventh Hour Films. Shot on location  at Bristol’s The Bottle Yard Studios and moving to London later this year, the new series will star Emma Appleton and Colin Morgan as the leading characters.
