Destination Vietnam, a Hollywood expo organised by Indochina Productions at the Directors Guild of America Theatre in Los Angeles, put the south east Asian country at centre stage. Highlighting Vietnam’s rich location variety and untapped cinematic potential, the event welcomed some respected names in production such as Netflix’s A Tourist Guide to Love producer Joel Rice and renowned location scout Lori Balton.
The Pažaislis Church and Monastery Complex in Kaunas, Lithuania wins the fourth edition of the EUFCN Location Award, the award for best European film and TV location organised by the European Film Commisisons Network (EUFCN), in collaboration with Cineuropa.
The five finalists are competing to be named best European film location in a vote by the general public. The European Film Commissions Network has revealed the shortlist of locations in Slovakia, Italy, Germany, Lithuania and North Macedonia.
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and The Last Black Man in San Francisco are motion picture winners at the 7th annual LMGI Awards. Perry Mason, Killing Eve, Little America and ZeroZeroZero won in the Television categories. Mask of the Zodiac was awarded outstanding locations in a commercial, and Toscana Film Commission were recognised for the support given to productions.
The seventh Annual LMGI Awards celebrates “2020 Vision: We See It First”. Veronique Vowell, who will join fellow honorees Spike Lee, Christopher McQuarrie, and Gary Sinise. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has invited 819 artists and executives to join the organisation. Six LMGI members including Harriet Lawrence and Todd Christensen are included in the 2020 class.
The Location Managers Guild International has announced that the 7th Annual LMGI Awards: 2020/We See It First will go digital streaming to a worldwide audience. The Awards will take place on Saturday October 24th at 2pm PST. The deadline for submitting projects and Film Commission for Awards consideration is Wednesday July 1 2020.
