As the first collaboration between the independent film studio and the actor, Nicholas Cage is set to lead eclectic horror comedy Dream Scenario. From writer/director Kristoffer Borgli and producer Ari Aster, the film places Cage as professor Paul Matthews and his unexplained cameos in other people’s dreams. The film, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival will hit theatres on 10 November.

Netflix released the trailer and first images for Zack Snyder’s first instalment of  Rebel Moon. The space sci-fi film follows on from Snyder’s success with the streaming service with Army of the Dead. The feature, starring Kingsman: The Secret Service and Star Trek Beyond actress Sofia Boutella, wrapped filming last December in California.

World’s first space-based entertainment studio to launch in 2024

UK-based media company Space Entertainment Enterprise (SEE) will launch the first entertainment studio and multi-purpose arena based in space. Named SEE-1, the construction is designed to allow producers to create media content in a low-orbit micro-gravity environment. Spaceflight services group Axiom Space are building the new project. They will use SEE-1 to dock their world-first commercial space station Axiom Station, which is connected to the International Space Station (ISS).

Russia has embarked on a mission to shoot a new film at the International Space Station. Actor Yulia Peresild, director Klim Shipenko and veteran cosmonaut Anto Shkaplerov were sent into space for 12 days to make the world’s first feature-length movie in orbit, which seems likely to be finalised before a similar Hollywood project coordinated by Tom Cruise, NASA, and Elon Musk’s SpaceX.
