The live-action sci-fi adventure will film at Village Roadshow Studios and surrounding locations on Australia's Gold Coast from early 2022.

Oklahoma based Taika Waititi pilot ordered to series
The half-hour comedy series from Taika Waititi and Sterlin Harjo Reservation Dogs follows four Native teenagers in rural Oklahoma who spend their days committing crime and fighting it. The pilot filmed in Oklahoma in September 2020, and has since been ordered to series by FX.
The Singapore Grip filmed entirely on location in South East Asia
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia doubled as Singapore for the adaptation of JG Farrell’s 1978 novel set during the period of the battle of Singapore in World War II. The miniseries was written and adapted by Oscar winner Christopher Hampton (Atonement, Dangerous Liasons) who was present on set during the filming in Malaysia.
Australia’s Location Incentive given financial boost to aid recovery
Australia's Screen Production Location Incentive grant has been given an additional AUS400 million funding. Having had relative success in managing Covid-19 the boost is hoped to help attract a longer term pipeline of major screen productions in Australia.
Location Scouting in Montenegro: a small country with large location potential
As we approached Tivat Airport from the air, the birds-eye view of fjord-like Kotor Bay, fringed with rugged mountains, was a fitting introduction to Montenegro's extreme landscapes. On solid ground we were greeted by our guide Igor Mitric who explained "it's amazing how quickly the landscape changes in Montenegro, you can go from Mordor to the Mediterranean in one day. AppleTV’s Shantaram to film in Victoria, Australia
Airing on Apple+, the Paramount TV and Anonymous Content production is based on the semi-autobiographical novel from Gregory David Roberts. Shantaram depicts Roberts' life after escaping from a maximum security prison in Mebourne in 1980, and fleeing to India.
Paramount Player’s Dora the Explorer films in Queensland, Australia
The first live-action adaptation of the “Dora the Explorer” franchise has begun principal photography in Australia’s Gold Coast. Paramount’s youth division Paramount Players has entered a co-production and financing deal with Walden Media. The feature film has received funding from Queensland Screen having committed to shooting solely in the North-Eastern state.
