The scheme is expected to support over 40,000 jobs across the creative sector by allowing planned productions to shoot during the pandemic. The Government-backed GBP500 million scheme formally launches after receiving state aid approval from the EU.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has invited 819 artists and executives to join the organisation. Six LMGI members including Harriet Lawrence and Todd Christensen are included in the 2020 class.

The production for Deadpool 2, which is already one of the highest grossing films of the year, was shot in a variety of locations throughout Vancouver and the surrounding area. One of the film’s most ambitious set-pieces involved a large prison convoy under siege in downtown Vancouver.
Principal photography is now underway for the third installment of Lionsgate’s highly successful John Wick series, with cinematographer Dan Lausten taking to Instagram to reveal the news. Scenes are currently being filmed on location in New York’s Chinatown and the production will stay in New York before relocating to Montreal.
The latest instalment in the X-Men franchise, Dark Phoenix, will see the series return to Montreal on August 20th. The production will incur a five day shoot at Mount Royal, doubling the site for New York’s Central Park before moving to a different location.
