Next month, Japan will open up the first round of submissions for their extended film and TV production incentive. The funding scheme offers a 50% reimbursement for qualifying expenditure in Japan, with a cap of USD 6.66 million. Targeting larger projects, the minimum spend required to qualify for the incentive is USD 3.3 million.

Bollywood film Fighter, starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone became the highest grossing film this weekend on the global box office, generating revenues of USD 25.1 million. The Viacom18 and Marflix actioner is helmed by Pathaan director Siddharth Anand. Unfolding the experiences of India’s Airforce, the aerial action flick was shot in Italy and Indian cities Assam, Mumbai, Kashmir and Hyderabad.

15 titles have been selected for this year’s International Film Festival of India (IFFI). Films included are festival favourites such as Maha Haj’s Mediterranean Fever and Lav Diaz’s When the Wave are Gone, along with international picks such as Polish Diretor Krzysztof Zanussi’s Perfect Number. Organised by India’s National Film Development Corporation (NFDC), the festival will take place in Panjim, Goa from 20 to 28 November 2022.

In June, Poznan Film Commission and Warsaw-based production services provider Filming Land, alongside the Polish Tourism Organisation and Mazovia Film Commission hosted a group of UK based producers for a three-day familiarisation trip. With the introduction of a 30% Polish cash rebate scheme in February, the tour combined a scouting trip with detailed information on how producers could benefit from the new rebate.
