New members announced for PGGB's Northern Ireland Committee

The Production Guild of Great Britain (PGGB) has revealed the members of its new Northern Ireland Committee. This announcement marks the second of six National and Regional Committees being establishing by the UK’s leading membership body for production professionals. The PGGB Northern Ireland Committee is sponsored by cast and crew specialists Sargent-Disc. It will be chaired by Belfast-based freelance producer Amanda Black, who is currently producing Mammoth Screen’s second series of BBC One war drama World on Fire.

The Production Guild of Great Britain (PGGB), in partnership with the British Film Commission (BFC), celebrated the completion of its inaugural Diversity and Inclusion Mentor Scheme. The scheme launched in August 2021 with the core aim of helping underrepresented talent working in UK film and High-End TV production reach the next level of their career in their chosen field. An evening reception at the House of Commons marked the occasion.

Film AlUla - the Royal Commission for AlUla’s film agency - has partnered with the UK’s Creative Media Skills Institute to deliver a 10-day film industry bootcamp in Saudi Arabia. Launching in March 2022, the scheme will prepare 25 local trainees from AlUla to follow careers in Production and Assistant Directing as well as the Art, Locations, Costume, Make-up and Hair departments. This training programme is led by award-winning film professionals and hosted in the stunning landscape of AlUla, home to the UNESCO World Heritage site Hegra.

The Diversity and Inclusion Mentor Scheme is designed to help underrepresented talent at entry, early and experienced levels reach the next level of their career in their chosen field. It is part of PGGB’s Mission Inclusion programme (#MI21) delivered in partnership with the British Film Commission, designed by PGGB’s Diversity and Inclusion Action Group to empower production personnel to expand their networks and ensure they are hiring diverse production teams.
