Producer Becky Brake approached the photo pod of a restored Ilyushin iL-14P at Berlin’s Tempelhof Airport and innocently inquired “what does that mean?” Sepi, our colleague from Lufthansa said, “Please Do not Touch!” Brake defensively replied, “I wasn’t going to touch it! I just wanted to know what it says…” Thus our first German lesson “Please do not touch.”
Amazon Prime Video is set to premiere comedy film You’re Cordially Invited, starring Reese Witherspoon and Will Ferrel. British director Nicholas Stoller takes to the helm of the project which shot in Atlanta, Georgia. The film will stream exclusively on Prime Video on 30 January.
Gerard Butler and O’Shea Jackson Jr are set to return to US screens on 10 January for Den of Thieves 2: Pantera. Following on from the 2018 release of the first film, the sequel travels to Europe for the action flick as Butler’s Big Nick character closes in on Jackson Donnie who is wrapped in the world of diamond thievery and the Panther mafia. Filming which commenced in April 2023 took place across the UK and Canary Islands which created the French inspired settings.
After deliberation, the jury members have selected the shortlisted entries for the EUFCN Location Awards 2024. The finalist locations will compete for two distinct awards; The EUFCN Location Awards 2024, selected by the Location Awards Jury, and The EUFCN Audience Location Award 2024, selected by the public through online voting. Voting will close on 31 January 2025 with winners announced at the European Film Market 2025 in Berlin.
Denmark is catching up to its Nordic counterparts with the announcement of their foreign filming incentive on the horizon. The upcoming rebate program set to kick off in 2026 will provide an annual pot of USD 17.5 million, twice the size of Sweden’s funding for foreign productions. The rebate on eligible expenses is planed for a significant 25%.
Dune: Prophecy revealed its action packed trailer last week at New York Comic Con. Set 10,000 years before the ascension of Paul Atreides, the upcoming series is inspired by the novel Sisterhood of Dune written by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson. The six episode miniseries will premiere on HBO Sunday 17 November.
Location Collective, UK provider of film location and production space, have been appointed filming partner for the restored Battersea Power Station in London. Following an eight year restoration, the power station will return to providing its facilities for the filming world which have been featured in projects such as The Dark Knight and The Kings Speech.
Delivery service Deliveroo have launched their new global brand platform Now Just Got Even Better with their first campaign featuring Deliveroo Plus. Developed with Pablo London and produced by BlinkInk, alongside Delievroo’s creative Studio, the campaign features a laughing vampire indulging in all the perks of Deliveroo’s subscription service, backdropped to the tune of 90’s hit This is How We Do It.
