Spain increases its filming incentive to 30%

As Spain draws closer to the end of its Covid-19 lockdown the Spanish government has increased the rate of filming incentive offered to incoming productions. The new rebate grants up to 30% on production spend and will gain interest from foreign productions who are gearing up to start shooting again.

In series three viewers are taken outside of the Western theme park into a new "technocratic metropolis". Nominees for the 6th Annual Location Managers Guild International (LMGI) Awards have been unveiled by LMGI President Mike Fantasia. The awards honor the outstanding and creative visual contributions by location professionals and film commissions in film, television and commercials from around the globe. The LMGI Awards also recognize outstanding service by film commissions for their support “above and beyond” during the production process.

During its initial run, Deadwood, the western drama set in the lawless town of Deadwood, North Dakota during the 1870s was consistently lauded by critics and cultivated a loyal fan base. So when HBO decided to cancel the series after its third season in 2006, cast and fans alike were surprised. After a thirteen year hiatus, HBO has brought the town back to the smallscreen in the form of a movie. In December 2018, Tunisia’s Tozeur International Film Festival (TOIFF) invited a group of eight location managers to attend its first edition, followed by a scout of the country. Looking to revive its international filming industry, our attendance at the festival and tour were conceived as ways to encourage international filming in Tunisia once again.
