Madrid Film Office, the audiovisual office of Madrid City Council, was present last week at Ventana Sur (Buenos Aires), the most important market for audiovisual content in Latin America. With the aim of promoting relations between Madrid and the Latin American audiovisual industries, two round tables have been organized to highlight the main programs that have been launched in recent years. These have the objective of stimulating media projects in the city and the opportunities that Madrid offers for international co-productions, taking as a case study the Spanish-Argentine co-production Adiós Madrid, by Diego Corsini.

Shawn Levy’s All the Light We Cannot See is et to premiere of Netflix on 2 November. The series, based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Anthony Doerr, follows the tumultuous journey of Marie-Laure and her father who flee German-occupied Paris. The new release will star first time actress Aria Mia Loberti and Mark Ruffalo as the father daughter duo, amongst many others.

Taylor Swift extends her industry breaking world tour to movie theatres across the world with the release of concert film Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour. The Box Office topping project, which premiered on 13 October, follows Swift’s journey from city to city, captured by Director Sam Wrench. The high performing project is set to be followed by the 1 December release of Beyonce’s Renaissance Tour flick.

Miami’s music scene comes to the screen in Netflix’s Neon. Co-created by executive producers Shea Serrano and Max Searle, who also serves as showrunner, the eight part series follows the journey of three friends making it through the challenges of the music industry. Reggaetón star Daddy Yankee, also serves as executive producer on the show, which is set for release on 19 October.

Netflix’s Heartstopper entered into production for their third season. The web comic adaptation started filming on a popular Dorset beach to continue the story of lead characters Charlie and Nick. The Alice Oseman created production will see the return of cast favourites for the third instalment of the show, which has yet to confirm a release date.

UPDATE: As of 12:01am PT on Wednesday 27th September, the WGAW Board and WGAE Council voted to lift the strike, allowing writers to return to work during the ratification process. The updated Memorandum of Agreement sees minimums increases, improvements to pension compensations, firmer regulations around the use of AI, improved screenwriter employment terms, and better residuals.
