HBO’s hit fantasy miniseries Game of Thrones has made the most of Iceland’s frozen landscapes filming scenes for its second season. Frozen and wintry climates characterise parts of the series’ mythical lands and so glacial regions of Iceland were used to film these parts of the story.
A new production company has been set up in Warsaw, Poland, by a pair of producing veterans. Film Delikatesy has been launched by Pawel Kochanowski, formerly of Propeller Film, and Kasia Targonska, formerly of Tandem Taren-To. The company’s main office is in Warsaw, but the firm will operate throughout Poland.

Steven Spielberg recreated early 20th Century England on location in the southern UK for his period epic War Horse. Filming focussed on the hills of Dartmoor and the village of Castle Combe in south-west England, while the trenches of the First World War were recreated in Surrey.
