Authorities in Limerick in western Ireland have bought a former factory building with the intention of turning it into a major film studio. Ireland is becoming a more popular filming location but high-profile TV dramas like Vikings and Ripper Street are based in Dublin.
A new campaign has been launched by the Mayor of Los Angeles to promote California’s boosted filming incentives. Dubbed ‘Greenlight Hollywood’, the campaign will involve Los Angeles’ ‘film czar’ and his deputy meeting with film industry executives through March and April.

A new miniseries based on the 1967 Ira Levin novel Rosemary’s Baby will be filmed on location in Paris. The novel follows a woman who falls pregnant with the Antichrist when she becomes victimised by a satanic coven, and was famously made into a film by Roman Polanski in 1968.
Madrid-based Aproductions organised a photo shoot in Barcelona to mark Qatar Airways’ sponsorship of top Spanish football team FC Barcelona. Shooting took place at the city’s Mediapark studio facility and had to be co-ordinated with a commercial that was shot at the same time.

He made his first feature in 1999 and later expanded to commercials as well, becoming an Executive Producer with Bulgaria Film Services. In 2005 he set up service company Filmmaker.
Born in Naples, Michela studied film at Italy’s national film school the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia. She entered the industry as a production manager, before moving into location management. She has been based on Capri in the Gulf of Naples since 2003.
The Craften Amsterdam conference is preparing to celebrate the production craft of advertising in Europe. It will take place in the Dutch city next week on 24 and 25 April 2013 and is being organised by Ciclope International Advertising Craft Festival.
